Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimise our organisation's supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement, logistics, inventory control, and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, proficient in data visualisation tools, to ensure seamless supply chain performance aligned with organisational goals.

The Supply Chain

Manager will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering continuous improvement across all supply chain functions. You will oversee and manage every stage of the process from manufacturing to the delivery of the final product so experience within a manufacturing or technical supply chain environment is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimise procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Utilise Sage and other stock inventory systems and other tools to analyse data, monitor KPIs, and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and root cause analysis to streamline operations and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and logistics providers to negotiate favourable terms and ensure compliance with organisational standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement programmes focusing on lean practices and system optimisation to enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organisational policies across all supply chain activities.
  • You will ensure you are aware of exactly what is happening throughout the supply chain and the costs associated with the movement and storage of stock.

Experience

  • Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics within a complex organisational environment, ideally manufacturing or technical.
  • Extensive knowledge of stock management systems including Sage 200 or a previous version of Sage and be willing to learn.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations, inventory control, procurement processes, and supply chain optimisation strategies.
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written is essential.
