Procurement Executive
Birchall Tea / Imporient UK LtdBirchall Tea has a vacancy for a Procurement Executive. This role will involve supporting processes across the company in a variety of procurement/purchasing functions.
This role is to provide purchasing and procurement expertise for the company, establishing best practice. The role requires an individual who is an efficient organiser with experience of working in a similar role. The successful candidate will be expected to operate from our Offices in London SE26 4QP. Some travel to our Amesbury, Wiltshire office and suppliers will be required from time to time.
Key responsibilities and duties include
- Procurement and subsequent negotiations for consumables, suppliers and logistics providers.
- Managing and processing direct and indirect spends to ensure manufacturing and business needs are met and on-time delivery is achieved.Process purchase orders and manage lead times / delivery schedules.
- Define and implement key KPI statistics for the company.
- Establish inventory control and implement associated processes and procedures.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships in line with the companies commercial requirements.
- You will identify potential new suppliers and through effective negotiation deliver cost savings to the business, without compromising quality.
- The monitoring of current supplier performance, including Quality, Service Levels and Supply timing.
- Review and revise, when appropriate, Logistics providers service levels and spend.
- Reduce cash tied up in stock holding.
- Keep stock to minimum levels without impacting production schedules.
We are seeking someone with the following skills and qualifications:
- A proven background in a Procurement position within a Manufacturing / Food and Drink Environment. Knowledge of the Tea Packing Industry would be an advantage.
- Ideally you will hold a CIPS Qualification.
- Procurement/Purchasing experience gained in an SME manufacturing environment.
- Effective communicator and negotiator.
- A proven track record of meeting deadlines and working with KPI’s to improve purchasing performance.
- Strong numeracy, planning and EXCEL skills.
