Lead Procurement Manager
Location: London (Hybrid – a few days per week)
Salary: Up to £85,000-£90,000 + 20% Bonus + Excellent Benefits Package An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement professional to join a leading international organisation during an exciting period of growth and transformation.
This is a highly visible, standalone Procurement leadership role supporting a significant commercial area of the business. Whilst the initial focus will be across Logistics & Distribution, the organisation is looking for exceptional procurement talent rather than a specific category background.
You'll work closely with C-suite and senior business stakeholders, taking ownership of complex commercial agreements, developing sourcing strategies, driving profitability, and identifying opportunities to create value. This role offers the opportunity to build and shape the Procurement capability over time, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating structure and influencing at the highest level.
Candidates from Retail, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Hospitality, Aviation or other fast-paced commercial environments would be particularly well suited.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing and commercial initiatives across a diverse portfolio of spend.
- Partner with C-suite and senior business leaders, acting as a trusted commercial advisor.
- Review, unpick and renegotiate complex commercial contracts, identifying opportunities to improve commercial terms, reduce risk and unlock value.
- Develop sourcing and category strategies that improve profitability, support revenue generation and deliver long-term business value.
- Lead high-value commercial negotiations with strategic suppliers.
- Build strong supplier relationships that drive innovation, performance and continuous improvement.
- Influence stakeholders across multiple business functions, ensuring Procurement is involved early in commercial decision-making.
- Use market insight and commercial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Initially operate as a standalone Procurement leader, with the opportunity to build and develop a Procurement team as the function continues to grow.
- Drive procurement best practice, governance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Procurement and Commercial experience gained within a complex, fast-paced organisation.
- Strong experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts.
- Ability to influence and challenge C-suite stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
- A track record of delivering measurable commercial value through cost optimisation, profitability improvement and supplier management.
- Experience working autonomously with the confidence to establish and grow a Procurement function.
- Previous experience within Retail, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Hospitality, Aviation or another commercially driven sector would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to build a best-in-class Procurement capability.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading international organisation. You'll enjoy significant exposure to senior leadership, the autonomy to shape Procurement within the business, and the opportunity to build a team as the function continues to grow.
