IT Vendor Management Consultant (Contract)

Global Organisation | 6 Months | Remote with occasional office visits:

We are seeking an experienced IT Vendor and Supply Chain manager for a global retail organisation. This will be an initial 6-month contract and will be Inside IR35. c£500-600pd negotiable.

The Vendor Management and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for executing and continuously improving a global vendor and supply chain framework across IT and wider technology functions. The role focuses on strengthening vendor governance, optimising commercial outcomes, reducing risk, and driving measurable value aligned to business and financial objectives. Operating with a strong tactical focus, you will manage MSP's and ensure effective supplier performance, cost control, and contract compliance through structured processes, while leveraging expertise in procurement, IT vendor management, software licensing, to deliver efficient, scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end vendor lifecycle (selection, negotiation, performance, renewal).
• Manage MSP's and strategic supplier relationships
• Lead commercial negotiations, RFPs/RFIs, and supplier sourcing.
• Drive vendor governance, KPIs, SLAs, and service improvements.
• Oversee software licensing, and compliance.
• Deliver cost optimisation, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with global stakeholders across IT, Finance, Legal & Procurement.

Experience required

• Proven experience in IT Vendor Management / Procurement / Commercial roles.
• Previous experience of managing large MSP's.
• Strong expertise in contracts, negotiation, and supplier management.
• Solid understanding of licensing, and MSP governance.
• Financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost optimisation).
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders globally.
• Analytical mindset with experience using metrics & dashboards.
• Comfortable operating in fast paced global complex environments.
