Copenhagen Offshore Partners
At COP, we’re here to unlock the full potential of offshore wind to power the world, and there’s no time to waste.
As part of our team, you’ll work on market-leading projects with some of the most experienced and passionate people in the industry. Together, we get stuff done and own the impact of our work, with respect and safety always at the core. Founded in 2015, we are the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield energy investments.
So, if you are ready to go further than you ever imagined, we are eager to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
The role
We are looking for a Supply Chain Development Manager to join our UK Procurement Team, based in Edinburgh.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for maximising supply chain development opportunities across CIP’s offshore wind portfolio in the UK and Ireland. You will play a critical role in shaping supply chain engagement, influencing industrial policy, and ensuring our projects deliver strong socio-economic value alongside commercial success.
The position involves close collaboration with our European and Global teams to drive knowledge sharing and alignment across markets.
While the COP UK main office is based in Edinburgh, we are open to candidates located anywhere in the UK. The position offers flexible remote working, with occasional travel to our Edinburgh office.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Managing the Clean Industry Bonus (CIB) application process for UK projects entering future allocation rounds and projects with a Contract for Difference award.
- Developing and executing a comprehensive supply chain engagement strategy targeting local and national stakeholders, suppliers, and policymakers.
- Leading industrial engagement activities to shape policy that supports sustainable supply chain growth and investment in the UK.
- Strategically amplifying COP & CIP supply chain opportunities at industry events and forums to attract innovative and competitive suppliers.
- Managing supply chain communications through events, webinars, website updates, and external public relations initiatives.
- Instructing, reviewing, and owning evidence-based socio-economic data (e.g., GVA, job creation) with external consultants to support projects throughout development, construction, and operations.
- Planning and updating Supply Chain Development Statements, including gathering expenditure data and preparing detailed supply chain strategy narratives.
- Assessing supply chain investment opportunities in the UK and Ireland, with focus on relieving bottlenecks, improving security of supply, and generating beneficial returns.
- Recommending the risk/opportunity profile of market and acquisition opportunities involving significant supply chain commitments, including UK facility investments and job creation.
- Representing COP & CIP at industry forums in the UK and Ireland and providing feedback on critical topics to senior management.
- Monitoring and analysing relevant policy developments with supply chain implications, including the Carbon Adjustment Mechanism, Clean Industry Bonus, and GB Energy supply chain initiatives.
Your experience
- Demonstrated experience within the UK supply chain development landscape, with a strong understanding of key policy drivers, political context, and offshore wind supply chain dynamics.
- Commercial and/or procurement experience, with sufficient financial acumen to assess risk and opportunity related to supply chain investments.
- Experience in the day to day working and remit of key stakeholders such as Renewable UK, Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, Scottish Renewables, Offshore Wind Industry Council and more
- Experience in measuring socio-economic benefits (e.g., GVA, employment impact) is desirable; alternatively, strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- A strong understanding of procurement and contracting processes in offshore wind, particularly for major construction and O&M packages (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to design and deliver engagement strategies across in-person, virtual, and digital platforms.
