About the Role: Do you have a head for data and a passion for leading high-performing teams to optimise livestock operations nationwide? The Livestock Programme Manager is an exciting opportunity for a confident, people-focused leader to take charge of performance across our clients' livestock supply chains. You will spearhead the development and delivery of operational strategies that improve efficiency, strengthen welfare standards, and underpin commercial growth. With a hands-on approach and a natural ability to build relationships, you will collaborate with stakeholders at every level - from farmers and partners through to senior leadership - ensuring alignment with business goals and consistently high standards of service. In this hybrid role, you will proactively lead, mentor, and develop a growing national livestock team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement. You will streamline operational processes, optimise resources, and guide your team to deliver the very best outcomes for a rapidly expanding customer base.
Responsibilities
- To develop and implement operational strategies for calf rearing to ensure efficiency and alignment with company goals
- To oversee daily operations across all national calf-rearing farms, ensuring optimal calf care, growth, and welfare compliance
- To manage and support multiple farm managers and partners to maintain consistent practices, performance, and animal welfare standards
- To plan and forecast rearing capacity and growth opportunities in line with regional and national strategies
- To monitor and manage financial performance, operational efficiency, and quality assurance
- To lead, mentor, and develop a small team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- To collaborate with internal teams and external partners to reduce risks, drive cross-functional initiatives, and maintain strong industry relationships

Required Skills
- Proven experience in a management role within livestock operations
- A knowledge and understanding of livestock production systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences
- An analytical mindset, with the capacity to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Strong people management and problem-solving skills
- A proven leader who can influence and mentor a team
- Good understanding of animal welfare and rearing protocols
- Highly organised, able to operate effectively under tight deadlines
- A strategic thinker, motivated to achieve business growth and goals
- A team player who can work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the business
- Flexible and resilient, able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Highly proficient in IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays nationwide
