Equans are looking for a Procurement Project Management Officer to join our team in London on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The Procurement Project Management Officer is a member of the Central Procurement team, part of the CFO (finance) Community.

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the PMO is responsible for delivery of PMO activities and providing PMO oversight for identified financial and non-financial projects including the Procure to Perform program.

Procure to Perform is one of 6 global programs with a strong strategic drive to improve COP and boost cash resulting in the 1% growth of current operating profit by 2027. Key levers include (but are not limited to) creating a strategic Procurement Performance Plan per country; renegotiate all supplier contracts and set up FWAs; consolidate purchasing volume and direct the flow towards FWAs; Transform IT purchasing.

Procurement and Category Managers have a responsibility for identifying financial and non-financial projects for delivery which secure optimal outcomes for the Procure to Perform and increase the client value proposition offered by Equans which maintain its competitive advantage in the market place. The PMO Analyst will play an important role in actively supporting team members to ensure these projects are delivered on time and on budget.

The post holder is ultimately responsible for the coordination of a complex range of projects across the programme of works that covers varying categories, dependencies and values over a 18 month time period ensuring delivery to time, quality and (TBC) budget. Supporting issue resolution will be a critical part of this role to ensure the mitigations are successfully implemented.

What will you deliver?

  • Proactively maintain robust governance frameworks across all activities, ensuring compliance and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Track programme and project progress with a focus on milestones, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies. Escalate deviations from agreed criteria and champion change control processes to maintain delivery integrity
  • Lead the identification, reporting, and mitigation of risks, issues, and dependencies. Ensure actionable mitigation plans are in place for all red or amber projects, driving resolution and minimizing business impact
  • Own the production of comprehensive governance meeting packs and reports, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful content for decision-making
  • Implement and manage rigorous status reporting processes, challenging and validating project status to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Set the standard for programme documentation by ensuring all deliverables are thoroughly quality-assured and fit for purpose
  • Coordinate the development of detailed programme and project plans, including resource forecasts and budget tracking, to enable precise cost management and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with the Head of Solutions & Performance to maintain an accurate view of budgets, actuals, and forecasts. Track run rate against plan to help identify potential risks. Support issue resolution and highlight variances to ensure financial discipline
  • Support the identification, tracking, and realization of programme and project benefits, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Collaborate with the Head of Solutions & Performance to deliver key documentation for portfolio, programme, and UKBU governance forums, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment
  • Develop and maintain templates for all key deliverables, driving standardization and efficiency across the programme and project landscape
  • Manage team sites and ensure all workstreams consistently upload and maintain essential PMO artifacts, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration
  • Capture, manage, and drive completion of governance forum actions, ensuring accountability and timely delivery of commitments

Who are you?

  • Programme, Project or PMO qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering PMO activities in a Programme or Project environment
  • Previous experience of a PMO role within the FM, construction, or related industries
  • A good understanding of Portfolio, Programme and Project Management principles
  • Experience of overseeing full Project lifecycle from design, build, test and deploy phases
  • Good Knowledge and experience of delivering PMO activities in a Programme or Project environment
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to listen, question and challenge. Build on-going relationships
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills recognising complexities in across different departments and divisions. Able to build relationships at all levels from Programme Director through to all members of the team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate and translate complex detail to appropriate audiences
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, plan and prioritise accordingly
  • Experienced at being highly organised with the ability to work under pressure in a high demand environment
  • Ability to break down complex problems to identify constituent parts and root causes and provide comprehensive, but pragmatic resolution options
  • Cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management skills
  • Proactive with high levels of energy, tenacity, and enthusiasm to deliver results. Able to work independently
  • Ability to prioritise issues and demands across multiple Programmes or Projects
  • Flexible and adaptable with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven organisational and planning ability. Good at working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good team work ethic, engagement and influencing skills
