Who are we?

Field & Flower was founded in 2011 by two friends after meeting at agricultural university, one a farmer and the other a food lover. We are a leading UK food subscription business specialising in grass fed, free-range meat and responsibly caught fish. We also offer a range of artisan cheese, scotch eggs, pies, charcuterie, stocks, salts, and seasonings – supporting livestock, local livelihoods and a living planet with every product we sell.

What are we looking for?

Field & Flower is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Manager to own end-to-end supply chain planning, procurement, and fulfilment for our direct-to-consumer meat business. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will balance strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring we deliver exceptional quality meat boxes on time while optimising cost, waste, and service levels. This role requires close collaboration with farmers, processors, and colleagues across the business, plus a willingness to roll up your sleeves during peak periods.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced supply chain professional ready to take full ownership of the end-to-end supply chain, with the chance to make a meaningful impact from day one.

Key responsibilities

  • Source and build relationships with farmers, abattoirs, and butchers, ensuring animal welfare standards, product specifications, and service levels are consistently met
  • Build contingency plans for supply disruptions and seasonal fluctuations in availability
  • Work closely with operations and production teams to ensure product arrives on time, in spec, and at correct temperatures to support packing schedules
  • Own product quality and safety, including batch traceability, and compliance with UK food safety and labelling regulations
  • Drive continuous improvement in waste reduction
  • Resolve fulfilment issues quickly, working with the customer experience team to minimise impact on customers
  • Provide hands-on support in the operations facility during peak periods (Christmas, Easter, promotional campaigns), including working in fridges, assisting with packing, and trouble-shooting bottlenecks
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to ensure consistency and supply security – you will be the face of the business, and should champion the brand and the ethics

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in supply chain or operations management within food manufacturing, FMCG, or ecommerce (ideally DTC or fresh/chilled food)
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, inventory management, and supplier negotiation
  • Hands-on approach, with willingness to work in cold environments throughout the week and support operations during peaks
  • Knowledge of UK food safety regulations, cold-chain management, and traceability requirements
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to analyse KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong Excel skills for data management and reporting

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in meat, butchery, or fresh supply chains
  • Familiarity with direct-to-consumer fulfilment models and ecommerce platforms
  • Experience with ERP systems and demand forecasting tools
  • Understanding of animal welfare standards and farm-to-fork traceability
