We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Procurement and Sourcing Controls Lead

You’ll be accountable for establishing, monitoring, and improving the governance, compliance, and internal controls framework across our global purchasing activities. Making sure that procurement processes are standardised, auditable, and aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring all aspects of the source to contract controls and process are documented in a clear and concise manner, implemented and embedded by operational teams, and that compliance is tracked and reported. You will also ensure that all controls and processes are fit for purpose and translated from technical documents to clear and easily understood customers and end users focused guidance.

In This Role You’ll

  • Lead the design and delivery of global source to contract controls, embedding consistent standards, governance, and ways of working
  • Develop and deliver an improvement initiative to uplift all control processes to ensure they are customer centric, and outcome focused
  • Develop and deliver a multi-year compliance programme that ensures adherence to all relevant policies and regulatory requirements
  • Lead projects to deliver regulatory and policy changes
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risk associated with the source to contract process ensuring an appropriate balance between risk, cost and delivery
  • Provide assurance oversight of processes to ensure adherence to quality, procedural, and compliance standards
  • Embed strong oversight and governance as part of Global Procurement’s risk and control management accountabilities
  • Educate customers and delivery teams on control requirements, why these are important, how they keep us safe, and the consequence of what failure of our key controls means

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Significant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement operations, and supply chain management for a large multinational organisation
  • Experience in management of process controls in a regulated industry, ideally within the financial services
  • Strong ability to analyse and distil complex data sets, applying insights to design, and then right-size process and control oversight capability
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capability, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and influence decision making
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a senior leader and trusted advisor within a complex, global organisation, operating with credibility at executive level
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, fostering accountability and a high performing culture, while role-modelling collaborative behaviours
  • Relevant and demonstrable professional qualifications in controls for commercial, contract, procurement, sourcing, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of procurement software and data-driven process improvement (for reference HSBC uses Coupa as it sourcing workflow tool and contract repository)
