IT Procurement Category Manager
JSSWe are partnering with a leading global company to recruit an experienced IT Procurement Category Manager to join the team in Birmingham. This is a strategic global role responsible for developing and delivering category strategies across IT spend, driving value, innovation, and supplier performance.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across IT, finance, and operations to ensure procurement aligns with business objectives while optimising cost, quality, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global category strategies for IT (software, hardware, telecoms, and services)
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx processes, negotiations, and contract awards
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor
- Manage and optimise supplier performance, ensuring value delivery and risk mitigation
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and supplier innovations
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks
About You
- Proven experience in IT procurement or strategic sourcing within a complex organisation
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience managing global suppliers and contracts
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of IT procurement (e.g., SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, telecoms)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- CIPS is desirable but not essential
