Latham & Bond HR are recruiting for our client, a manufacturing organisation, to fill the MP&L Manager role. This role sits at the centre of logistics, materials planning, and distribution. You will ensure products move through the supply chain, arrive on time, meet quality standards, and support operational performance. Contribute to logistics strategy, policies, and processes to improve operational performance.
Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics activity across internal teams, suppliers, logistics providers, and customers.
Implement best practice logistics processes to improve operational and financial performance.
Deliver solutions to logistics issues while maintaining quality and service levels within budget.
Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and logistics partners.
Recommend optimal transport modes and routes.
Select carriers and evaluate performance.
Ensure compliance with internal policies for product transit and delivery.
Resolve transportation, import, export, and logistics system issues.
Review logistics impacts of routing changes, shipping modes, volumes, or carriers.
Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee stock movements.
Provide logistics data to support customer service and cost improvement.
Lead, coach, and develop the logistics team.
Set objectives and KPIs, review performance, and report against targets.
Ensure all logistics functions comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Financial Budget and Control
~ Build strong relationships across the logistics process.
Ensure all orders are dispatched on time and shipped correctly.
Oversee packaging, ensuring cost effective and high quality solutions.
Ensure compliance with import and export regulations, customs requirements, and health and safety law.
Support new business initiatives and ensure effective logistics launch planning.
Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities.
Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance.
Excellent communication and relationship building.
Planning ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Project management capability.
Commercial and financial awareness with understanding of business impact.
Degree in business, commercial, manufacturing, or engineering preferred.
Experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and technical regulations.
Understanding of import and export regulations and dangerous goods certification.
Strong understanding of manufacturing and automotive processes and supply chain management.
