Head of Procurement - Leading Food Manufacturer

This role is responsible for owning the procurement strategy and driving process improvements for the business. Our client is a leading food manufacturer, seeking someone with extensive FMCG/manufacturing procurement experience.

Description

Key responsibilities include

• Deliver value through cost reduction, strong terms management, and effective handling of suppliers.
• Identify, develop, and manage suppliers to support ongoing strategy, product improvement, value analysis, and risk mitigation.
• Develop category strategies and annual plans, tracking price and commodity movements to inform decisions and manage risk.
• Build and manage key pricing and supply relationships, including with major B2B customers.
• Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team while supporting the wider Group in delivering top strategic sourcing.

Profile

The successful candidate would have

• Extensive FMCG or manufacturing procurement experience.
• Demonstrates strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to develop and support high-performing teams.
• Possesses strong commercial acumen, with the capability to interpret complex data, control costs, and make well-informed strategic decisions.
• Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving skills.
• MCIPS qualification and/or food procurement experience would be beneficial.
