Reporting to: Group Procurement Director

MM Flowers is looking for a commercially driven and relationship-focused Procurement Manager to lead supplier partnerships and negotiations within our fast-paced, highly competitive industry.

This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality, supplier accuracy, and operational excellence. You will play a key part in strengthening our global supply base, driving procurement strategy, and delivering successful outcomes during critical peak trading periods.

The Role

As Procurement Manager, you will build and manage long-term strategic supplier relationships while driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

You will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Technical, NPD, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless delivery against customer and business requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Relationship Management

• Build strong, transparent partnerships with global suppliers
• Provide clear performance feedback and drive continuous improvement
• Lead annual performance reviews for key suppliers

Cost Optimisation & Negotiation

• Lead supplier negotiations to achieve best-value agreements
• Balance competitiveness, quality, and innovation
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and supply chain accuracy

Procurement Operations & Compliance

• Maintain procurement systems, pricing structures, and supplier data
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and compliance
• Approve supplier invoices in line with agreed terms
• Maintain and update the standard price book and forecast Product Price Variance

Strategic & Seasonal Planning

• Lead procurement planning for peak periods including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Easter
• Provide detailed forecasting to suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Monitor orders against pre-season forecasts and identify risks

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Supply Chain teams to monitor supplier accuracy and daily arrivals
• Work closely with Technical teams to resolve quality issues
• Support NPD and Commercial teams on new product launches
• Attend design feasibility meetings to advise on product availability and risks

Supplier Governance & Risk

• Conduct risk assessments for onboarding new suppliers
• Ensure suppliers fully understand MM Flowers’ operational requirements

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings

• Proven procurement or sourcing experience within FMCG, floristry, horticulture, or perishable goods
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to balance cost, quality, and long-term relationships
• Experience managing supplier performance and driving accountability
• Excellent organisational and project management skills in fast-paced environments
• Strong data and systems capability (forecasting, pricing, performance metrics)
• Confident communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Desirable

• Experience managing procurement cycles during peak trading periods
• Background in flower, gifting, or perishable product industries
• Familiarity with supplier risk assessment and onboarding frameworks
