NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is the largest Health Board in Scotland and has a trade spend with third party suppliers of over £907m with the Procurement Department providing a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions. This includes strategic sourcing and advice to improve effectiveness and value for money on all expenditure for goods, services and works.
We have a Commodity Manager post vacant a present within our Digital Services Procurement team. The post holder will be a member of the Digital Services Procurement team led by the Commercial Team Manager. They will contribute to the development of the Digital Services commodity team strategy and be responsible for delivering the overall procurement, health board and NHSS strategies.
The post holder will lead and directly manage a team within the Digital Services Commodity team section of the NHS GGC Procurement Department, including associated divisions and directorates. They will be responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency of resources, achievement of value for money and risk and liability management through negotiation and other procurement skills and techniques.
The post holder will also lead NHS GGC’s representation from both clinical and non clinical representatives on National Procurement Commodity Advisory Panels, regional workshop events and other initiatives to ensure NHS GGC’s requirements are met for national contracts.
The post holder will lead all aspects of multi million pound cross directorate Digital Services contracts covered by their team’s portfolio including the analysis, selection, award and management of said contracts.
We are seeking candidates who are educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a Professional/Postgraduate qualification in Procurement and Supply e.g. CIPS Professional Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent experience, who have knowledge of contract law and public procurement legislation and have excellent management, communication and inter-personal skills
