Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus

Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation within the safety products sector, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee procurement and supply chain activities across a diverse global supplier network.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused supply chain professional to drive cost reduction, strengthen supplier relationships, improve supply chain resilience, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead purchasing activities to ensure continuity of supply for production and customer demand.

Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including orders, shipping documentation, and supplier communications.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supply agreements to maximise value and reduce costs.

Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities.

Coordinate inbound logistics and supplier deliveries to meet operational requirements.

Monitor supplier performance, service levels, and key purchasing metrics.

Drive dual-sourcing initiatives and support supply chain risk reduction strategies.

Analyse spend, market trends, and purchasing data to identify efficiencies and savings.

Support new product introduction projects by ensuring material availability.

Lead supplier audits and continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a Supply Chain Manager, Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, or similar leadership role.

Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.

Experience delivering cost reduction programmes and supply chain improvements.

Previous people management experience.

Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities.

Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

ERP system experience and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable Experience

Manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, industrial products, plastics, or electronics sectors.

Polymer, plastics, or injection moulding supply chain experience.

Electronic component sourcing experience.

Supplier auditing and supply chain risk management.

ESG and sustainable procurement knowledge.

CIPS qualification.

Benefits

Salary of £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
