We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Commercial & Procurement Intern in our Joint Procurement team. Could you be who we are looking for?

We are responsible for a wide range of goods and services with an emphasis is on value for money and influencing the complete procurement lifecycle. We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and enthusiasm to undertake this new role and to play a key role in delivering our aims.
About The Role And Your Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute positively to the strategic procurement team, undertaking work related to procurement processes, sourcing, supporting the requirements of procurement legislation, contract management, responsible procurement, general administrative tasks, support to client departments and will offer support in the delivery of a professional and robust procurement service.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
Studying in a relevant discipline, or with transferrable knowledge, you will be able to demonstrate some knowledge in the field of procurement and contract management. A working knowledge of public procurement legislation, the delivery of value for money and supplier relationship management would be an advantage.
The post-holder will benefit from smarter working policies, with a mixture of home working and working in South Wales Police HQ, with occasional travel to Gwent Police.

Qualification Criteria
To be eligible you must be working towards a degree and be in your ‘sandwich year’ / ‘year in industry’ (between years 2 and 3) in a relevant subject.
A relevant subject may include Strategic Procurement Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management.

Shortlisting for this vacancy will take place on 16th and 17th February 2026.
Interviews for this vacancy will take place on either 16th or 17th March 2026.
