SPEC Engineering Ltd is a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company serving the Oil, Gas, and Refinery sectors. As we expand our UK operations, we are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Procurement Manager to take ownership of our purchasing and logistics functions.

In this critical role, you will

  • Lead procurement activities to secure cost-effective, high-quality goods and services.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize value and performance.
  • Oversee the entire supply chain process - from sourcing and purchasing to delivery and final handover.
  • Monitor and coordinate logistics, ensuring timely and efficient transfer of materials.
  • Implement best practices to improve processes, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide, coach, support and direct a team with enthusiasm, positivity, and professionalism
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to enhance profitability
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure advantageous terms
  • Control, maintain improve establish envelope (Locke mailbox) bidding system.
  • Establish barcode system for warehousing
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
  • Utilize ERP systems to track purchases and analyse data
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
  • Work closely with logistics, engineering & project team to ensure timely delivery of goods

Suitable candidates should have the following

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role with EPC companies
  • Proficient in using ERP
  • Solid understanding of importing and exporting of goods throughout the world
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and secure favourable terms
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment

This is an Office Based role, therefore, candidates should be based within commutable distance to Leatherhead, Surrey and mustbe authorised to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Salary: £45,000.00 - £60,000.00 per year depending on experience.
