Procurement and Supply Chain is a key function within the business, supporting significant spend and playing an important role in enabling customer delivery and managing supply chain risk.

QinetiQ is hiring into its UK Defence Delivery team, with opportunities at both Supply Chain Manager and Senior Supply Chain Manager level. These roles support complex and niche requirements that sit outside established framework agreements, with the Senior role also leading the wider Delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support sourcing activity for complex and niche requirements that sit outside established framework agreements.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, helping shape requirements and identify the right commercial route to market.
• Manage supplier, contract and delivery risk, including resilience, performance and broader supply chain considerations.
• Drive strong contract management and supplier relationship management activity across the delivery space.
• At Senior level, lead and develop the Delivery team, helping move the function from a reactive model to a more proactive business-partnering approach.

Key skills required

• Strong strategic sourcing and procurement capability, ideally gained in a complex, regulated or technically-led environment.
• Good contract management and supplier relationship management experience, with the ability to negotiate contracts as well as manage post-award activity.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity, with the ability to handle varied, one-off or obscure requirements rather than purely repeatable BAU demand.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across a matrix environment and support the right commercial outcome.
• Adaptable and pragmatic, with a generalist mindset and an understanding of SMEs, sustainability and supplier diversity.
