Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Representative to support our procurement function. This role plays a key part in the efficient sourcing, ordering, and importation of raw materials required for the production of nutraceutical supplements. The successful candidate will contribute to cost optimisation, supplier relationship management, and overall operational efficiency.

Who are we?

The Oxford Health Company is an award-winning contract manufacturing business specialising in the food supplement market. Since our incorporation in 2013, we’ve been recognised as one of the Times Top 100 Fastest-Growing Companies (2023), achieving an impressive 58% average annual growth over the past three years.

Our commitment to excellence has been recognised through multiple industry awards, including 2024 Oxfordshire Business Awards wins in both the Large Business and Green Award categories.

We are a dynamic, entrepreneurial team driven by a clear ambition: to become the UK’s leading Food Supplement Manufacturer, both in turnover and service quality. Our success is built on expert service, operational excellence, and some of the shortest lead times in the industry for new and medium-sized brands with high-value propositions.

Our headquarters and manufacturing facility are based in Bicester, with a second nearby storage warehouse. Since launching our state-of-the-art clean rooms and manufacturing facility in 2019, we have continued to invest heavily in infrastructure to support growth and improve efficiency.

What will you do?

  • Source and procure goods, materials, and services required for business operations, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating pricing, contracts, and delivery terms.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, track delivery status, and ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure favourable commercial outcomes that support margin and cost targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Production, Quality, R&D, and Finance to align procurement activity with business needs.
  • Ensure all materials meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
  • Review and verify technical documentation to confirm compliance with internal standards and relevant certifications.
  • Coordinate with customs agents and freight forwarders to manage the import of international goods and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.

What we’re looking for

  • 1+ years’ experience in procurement, buying, supply chain, or a related role, ideally within nutraceuticals, food, pharmaceutical, chemical, or bespoke manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing procurement processes end-to-end, including supplier engagement, negotiation, and purchase order management.
  • CIPS qualification (any level) or project management qualification, or a willingness to undertake and complete one.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and certification bodies (e.g. Novel Foods Regulations, Soil Association, THR) is desirable.
  • Educational background in science, nutrition, sports nutrition, supply chain, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret data and support data-driven decision-making.
