Key responsibilities include
Developing project-specific supply chain and procurement strategies.
Identifying long-lead items, critical suppliers and key supply chain dependencies.
Supporting bids with supplier strategies, quotations, cost inputs, risks and commercial assumptions.
Leading supplier selection, RFP/RFQ activity and supplier due diligence.
Supporting contract and subcontract negotiations alongside Commercial and Legal teams.
Managing key suppliers against agreed milestones, KPIs and delivery requirements.
Monitoring supplier schedules, challenging delays and driving recovery plans.
Managing supplier risks and escalating issues where required.
Establishing supplier reporting and governance arrangements.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Commercial and Project Management teams.
Ensuring customer and contractual requirements are appropriately flowed down to suppliers.
Managing supplier delivery, acceptance and subcontract closure.
About You

You should have
Experience managing suppliers against cost, quality, schedule and technical requirements.
Experience developing procurement or supply chain strategies.
Experience with supplier selection and RFP/RFQ processes.
Strong supplier performance and relationship management experience.
Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management and reporting.
Good commercial awareness, with an understanding of the impact of supplier decisions on cost, margin, schedule and risk.
Experience working with contractual requirements and supplier terms and conditions.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
The confidence to challenge suppliers and drive actions through to completion.
Desirable
Experience within aerospace, space, defence, electronics, engineering or other high-technology sectors would be highly advantageous.
Experience with development and qualification programmes, long-lead/high-value products, UK Government/MOD requirements, DEFCONs/DEFFORMs, export controls or supplier quality/Product Assurance would also be beneficial.
Why Consider It?
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of project delivery, procurement, commercial management and supplier performance, with genuine ownership of the supply chain across complex technical programmes.
