As a Divisional Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a global supply chain strategy that ensures ethical sourcing, compliance, operational excellence and value creation. This role leads all aspects of supply chain management, including planning, scheduling, vendor performance, cost control, people management and stakeholder engagement while driving continuous improvement and sustainability.

The Divisional Supply Chain Manager will develop, implement and embed the company's supply chain strategy with the objective to improve productivity, efficiency and costs while securing high quality material and subcontract machining for all businesses within the Division.

This role shall provide strategic planning and leadership within their areas of direct responsibility whilst continually developing a sustainable, ethical, compliant, cost-effective chain of suppliers (globally) who demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, reliability, ethical operation and continuous improvement.

The role will require worldwide travel in order to facilitate the effective collaboration with vendors and suppliers to ensure that all operations (e.g. shipping, delivery) meet the Company's required standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop a supply strategy and rationalise existing sources of supply for all materials including but not limited to forgings, castings, key components and subcontract machining both from the UK and abroad in accordance with business requirements.
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to, in order to minimise non-conformities.
  • Work closely with suppliers to develop a 'Vendor Rating' system of all suppliers with particular focus on major commodities.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Ensure the divisional supply chain demonstrates a strong focus on and adherence to health and safety policies and procedures together with the requirements of the various British Engines Group policies regarding ethical conduct.
  • Develop, manage and maintain key supplier relationships and supplier agreements to maximise cash flow, on time delivery, and minimise inventory.
  • The role will include the introduction and monitoring of suitable KPI's, project planning, risk management and support the implementation and development of the business MRP system.
  • Help develop, manage and maintain all Supply Chain policies and procedures.

Leadership & Management

  • Provide input from the supply chain function to support the requirements of management reporting and the budget process.
  • Actively attend and participate in company management meetings as and when required.
  • Critically analyse supply chain data, operations and performance with a view to suggesting and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure HR, HSE and ethical conduct company policies and procedures are followed to meet the required performance of the function.

People Management

  • Identify, enable and facilitate any training needs to satisfy any strategic or immediate capability requirements.
  • Conduct Performance Management & Development Reviews of direct reports where applicable.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure that department members work in a safe manner, comply with the Company's Health and Safety Policy, maintain good housekeeping and hygiene throughout and proactively follow any training and instruction as provided.
  • Ensure department members, customers, visitors and any other third parties comply with site and company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ensure department members observe company and site-specific health and safety requirements when travelling, or visiting other premises.
  • Promote safe working practices by directly challenging or reporting unsafe practices and hazardous working conditions.

Who we're looking for

A proven Supply Chain lead who can develop, lead and embed a supply chain strategy in global markets whilst continually developing a sustainable, ethical, compliant and cost-effective chain of suppliers (globally) who demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, reliability, ethical operation and continuous improvement.

A proven people leader who is able to direct and influence stakeholders at a senior level, both internally and externally, to ensure successful delivery of the agreed strategic pathways and outputs.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering or similar, relevant field or relevant professional qualifications
  • Significant experience in a senior supply chain management role in an international context
  • Demonstrable expertise in strategic supply chain management, supplier management, compliance and ethical sourcing
  • Some knowledge of company product, market and competitors
  • Experience in ERP and supply chain planning and scheduling systems
  • Proven record in cost management and process improvement
  • Experience in driving digital supply chain transformation and sustainability initiatives
  • Knowledge on how to create the company's supply chain strategy, ensuring legal compliance
  • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate with suppliers / vendors to ensure that we are purchasing material and subcontract machining as competitively as possible.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for strategic or tactical purchasing of materials
  • Strong analytical abilities and advanced proficiency with supply chain analytics, reporting tool and relevant software, and systems
  • Evaluate and report on KPI's and/or key Objectives as set by the Divisional CEO/OE Director
  • Proven capability to analyse data various processes and systems to identify, improve or rectify problems
  • Current Drivers Licence is required.

This role would require the successful candidate to undertake a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check and the successful candidate will be required to travel both locally in the UK and globally as required in order to undertake their role effectively.
