The Opportunity

The role is responsible for developing a direct procurement strategy that will deliver to support the business in its growth strategy. The strategic delivery and prioritisation of data, processes, systems, along with the design and delivery of a Global aligned approach of direct procurement within manufacturing. Leading the direct procurement team to ensure product targets are met effectively. Driving the S&OP process and a continuous mindset approach within all processes. This requires development, roll out and enhancement of KPI's and other measures, to deliver the operational introduction of new products, product extensions and expansion into new geographies and the S&OP process.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Developing and deploying a direct procurement strategy that will deliver significant financial impact across the business
Taking full responsibility and accountability for sourcing processes, whilst utilising sourcing techniques and best practice that will deliver significant benefit to the business
Providing leadership and development to the Procurement function and ensuring the category teams provide the appropriate level of commercial expertise
Ensuring the ongoing development of category management
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers
Evaluating market trends and implementing procurement strategies/initiatives that will enable the business to further develop their commercial proposition
Lead changes associated with implementation of future state supply chain improvements and ensure the processes are sustainable by embedding a structured governance model
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Dechra and DM&S senior leadership to assess strategic & operational procurement process maturity across Dechra and develop 3yr improvement road map to develop best in class.
Program manage major direct procurement process improvement initiatives across Dechra, collaborating with the global supply chain team, operations, product development & engineering
Partner with operational and finance teams to create a process to analyse & create product specific procurement cost reduction plans
Develop direct procurement systems strategy, and develop an implementation plan, all to enhance current capabilities & program manage the deployment across all DM&S
Develop and embed procurement performance governance process & host procurement operating reviews across all regions & material categories.
Periodically benchmark performance externally to understand gaps & opportunities to best in class
Develop & deploy procurement data analytics strategy to improve the capability and use of data analytics in supply chain to improve decision making
Program manage global procurement compliance, in line with FTSE and other regulatory body compliance, working with external support partners and the procurement team
Monitor global supply chain KPI performance, drive improvement, & corrective actions
Evaluate and develop a supply base risk methodology and deploy across DPM&S.

The Candidate

Fully IT literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

Stakeholder management experience across various business levels, locations and functions
Commitment to ensuring projects are completed correctly
Highly organized and detail oriented
Experience of developing procurement strategies
Demonstrable regulated business procurement experience, including dealing with contract manufacturing organisations.
Degree level (or equivalent experience) with a CIPS qualification.

Additional Information

Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
This role is based in Northwich / hybrid.
