Your new role
As Interim Procurement Manager, you will
- Direct and manage procurement activities for the organisation.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a professional procurement team.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve procurement processes and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with legal, fiscal, and university regulations.
- Oversee contract management, supplier negotiations, and tendering processes.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and key performance indicators.
- Manage statutory returns, records management, and Freedom of Information requests.
- Represent the organisation in sector initiatives and external networks.
- Drive continuous improvement in business systems and value for money.
- Provide high levels of customer service and manage complex supplier relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience leading and developing professional teams.
- Extensive knowledge of public procurement legislation, competitive tendering, and contract management.
- Experience in managing, mentoring or supervising a team within Procurement.
- Strong project management skills and experience with supplier invoice and payment processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to plan, organise, and deliver results in a complex environment.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent relevant professional qualification is desirable.
