Global Procurement Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Global Direct Procurement Manager to join their team in the Berkshire area. This role is integral to the efficient and effective procurement of active pharmaceutical ingredients, chemical raw materials, excipients, components, and packaging to support both commercial products and new product developments. As the Global Direct Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, market assessments, and ensuring business continuity plans are in place.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties as the Global Direct Procurement Manager will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Ensure effective management of strategic suppliers with a view to building long-term strategies.

2. Implement and lead global strategic sourcing activities in partnership with relevant functions such as Supply, Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, and Regulatory.

3. Independently manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure security of supply, supplier performance, and innovation.

4. Design, implement, and maintain accurate and reliable spend and savings reporting with respect to projects and suppliers.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Global Direct Procurement Manager, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or other related fields.

2. Extensive industry experience in procurement or sourcing within the pharmaceutical or similar industry.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with procurement strategies, tactics, negotiations, and contracting skills.
