Our client is an established and growing food manufacturing business supplying products to major UK customers. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, the business is investing heavily in its people, processes and systems, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to play a key role in shaping the future of the operation.
The business is currently undertaking a significant systems transformation programme and is looking for an individual who can help modernise the supply chain function, improve visibility and reporting, and support continued growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead the end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials, inventory and finished goods to support customer demand and production requirements.
Managing a small planning team, you will be responsible for supply planning, inventory management, inbound logistics and supplier performance, whilst working closely with production, commercial and finance teams. A key aspect of the role will be driving improvements in systems, reporting and processes, helping the business move towards a more data-driven and efficient supply chain operation.
You will also play a leading role in the implementation and optimisation of a new ERP platform, helping to establish robust planning processes, improve stock visibility and develop meaningful performance reporting.
The Person
- Proven supply chain management experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong planning, forecasting and inventory management capability.
- Experience managing international supply chains, imports and supplier relationships.
- Demonstrable track record of driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Confident stakeholder manager, able to build relationships and influence across production, commercial and operational functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
- Knowledge of ERP, MRP or business systems and experience supporting process or systems improvements.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance customer service, cost and inventory performance.
