Procurement Heads are delighted to be recruiting for a global manufacturing and engineering organisation with operations across multiple UK.
This impressive client is looking for someone to optimise their tail end spend (Value of c£15million) across multiple UK sites.
Hybrid working - 3 days on site in Surrey (M25, Junction 7)
Salary up to £55,000 + Bonus + Healthcare + On site Gym and restaurant
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to take ownership of tail spend management across multiple UK sites. The role focuses on transforming low-value, high-volume spend into measurable value through improved visibility, supplier consolidation, and process efficiency.
Working closely with site, operations, and commercial teams, you’ll analyse spend data, identify optimisation opportunities, and implement sourcing strategies that deliver savings, strengthen supply reliability, and drive sustainable procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities of Procurement Specialist
- Develop and deliver sourcing strategies to manage and optimise tail spend across multiple business units.
- Conduct spend analysis to identify trends, duplicate suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Rationalise the supplier base to improve leverage, reduce complexity, and enhance compliance.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and framework agreements to maximise value and minimise risk.
- Partner with stakeholders to align procurement activity with operational and strategic goals.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure service continuity through KPIs and regular reviews.
- Drive standardisation, digitalisation, and automation of procurement processes.
- Ensure full compliance with procurement governance, sustainability, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Provide clear reporting on spend performance, savings delivery, and process improvements.
- Support wider sourcing projects and business initiatives when required.
Categories of Spend
- Indirect & Facilities: Site maintenance, engineering services, refurbishment, cleaning, waste management, and logistics.
- Operational & Technical: Spare parts, consumables, small equipment, and general plant support.
- Corporate & Support: Office services, Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality support, and other business support categories.
About You
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent (CIPS desirable).
- Solid experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally across industrial or technical environments.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with SAP an advantage
- Proactive, results-oriented, and confident managing data-driven sourcing initiatives.
- Continuous improvement mindset with interest in sustainability and supplier performance.
