
Supply Chain & Procurement Lead
Location: Wirral
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
About the Opportunity
A growing and commercially focused organisation is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Procurement Lead to take ownership of supplier relationships, procurement strategy, and supply chain performance.
This is a highly visible role that combines strategic supplier management with hands-on operational delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability, deliver cost savings, mitigate supply chain risks, and support the launch of new products and services.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional who enjoys influencing stakeholders, negotiating commercially beneficial agreements, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers to support business growth and operational performance
Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, service levels, lead times, and contractual arrangements
Identify and deliver sustainable cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards
Establish supplier performance measures and lead regular business reviews
Monitor supplier delivery performance, capacity, and supply risks, implementing corrective actions where required
Maintain supplier governance processes, including onboarding, evaluation, and compliance activities
Support new product introduction and sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, quotation analysis, and cost modelling
Collaborate with forecasting, finance, technical, and operational teams to ensure robust supply planning
Develop and maintain supply chain risk assessments and mitigation strategies
Produce regular procurement and supplier performance reports for senior leadership
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain leadership
Strong commercial negotiation skills with a track record of achieving measurable cost savings
Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and driving performance improvements
Sound understanding of procurement best practice, supplier risk management, and total cost of ownership principles
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business functions
Experience supporting product development or new product introduction projects would be advantageous
Professional procurement qualifications (such as CIPS) are desirable
