Job Title: Interim Procurement Manager

Location: Birmingham, hybrid

Contract: Interim / Fixed-Term – Immediate start preferred

A leading professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to support its Birmingham-based operations during a key period. This role will focus on strengthening procurement governance, delivering cost efficiencies, and improving supplier management across a diverse range of spend categories.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, the successful candidate will play a critical role in driving procurement best practice within a fast-paced professional services environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement activity across key indirect spend categories including professional services, IT, facilities, and business services
  • Review and enhance procurement processes, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Deliver strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations to drive cost savings and value
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure service quality and compliance
  • Support contract reviews, renewals, and risk management activities
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to embed procurement discipline and commercial thinking
  • Provide interim leadership and guidance to procurement or operational teams where required

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Procurement Manager / Category Manager role, ideally within legal, professional services, or partnership-based organisations
  • Strong commercial negotiation and strategic sourcing expertise
  • Experience operating in interim or transformation environments is highly desirable
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate within a partnership or matrix structure
  • Strong understanding of supplier management, contract governance, and procurement best practice
  • MCIPS qualification or equivalent experience preferred
