Location: Brighton/hybrid 6 days per month in the office
The role and responsibilities
We're seeking a Commercial Lead to join our Commercial Team on a 8-month internal secondment basis. You will be accountable for delivering procurement in line with best practice, legislative requirements and government guidelines.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and with key external partners. You will ensure the delivery of compliant contracts that support the needs of the business and deliver value for money.
You will ensure adherence to Public Contract Regulations (PCR) 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023, delivering goods and services that are fit for purpose, underpinned by robust contractual frameworks. You will deliver a cost effective and professionally managed service to business stakeholders and play a key role in major projects and outsourced contracts.
The role criteria
- Professional Qualification - MCIPS or equivalent, with significant experience in procurement and commercial management.
- Expert Knowledge of Procurement Legislation - Strong understanding of Public Contract Regulations (PCR) 2015, Procurement Act 2023, and UK/EU procurement directives.
- Leadership Experience - Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams and deliver procurement strategies at senior level.
- Commercial Acumen - Ability to manage cost pressures, mitigate commercial risk, and deliver value for money through strategic procurement.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Extensive experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing complex relationships across multiple directorates.
- Supplier & Contract Management Expertise - Comprehensive experience in supplier development, bench-marking, and managing service levels within regulated environments.
