Job Title: Procurement Specialist (Buyer)

Location: Aberdeen, UK (Office-based)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist (Buyer) to join a dynamic and collaborative Procurement Team in the UK. The team supports regional and corporate projects, working closely with local and regional stakeholders to manage the end-to-end buying process and deliver best-value commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the buying process for a defined range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with sourcing policies, budgets, and specifications.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing RFQs and contacting suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
  • Creating, placing, and following up on Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure successful PO execution
  • Monitoring on-time delivery of goods and services
  • Identifying gaps or inefficiencies in procurement processes and proposing improvements
  • Supporting contract negotiation, renewals, and discussions with suppliers
  • Managing supplier relationships to gather market intelligence, assess risk, and ensure KPI compliance
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders to support data gathering and analysis
  • Managing supply chain issues, changes in schedules, and escalations
  • Reporting supplier performance and handling non-conformance cases
  • Processing supplier invoices and managing any required corrections
  • Preparing comparison tables and value analyses to support sourcing decisions

Skills & Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or buying
  • Experience within energy, oil & gas, engineering, or technology-driven industries is highly desirable
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage)
  • Experience or training in contracts and agreement templates
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or Oracle
  • Ability to lead procurement activities and contribute to decision-making
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities
