Job Title: Procurement Assistant – Ingredients Department

Hours: 30 hours per week, ideally spread across 5 days (flexible to 4 days if needed)

Contract: Temporary 6-month contract

J.O. Sims Ltd is a family-run business based in the heart of South Lincolnshire. We grow and import cherries from around the world, supplying them to UK retailers. Our Ingredients Department also sources and supplies a range of ingredients to other businesses, enabling them to manufacture their products.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Procurement Assistant to join our Ingredients Procurement team. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity with the chance to complete an apprenticeship in Procurement alongside the role, providing excellent learning and career progression opportunities.

Job Purpose

To support the Procurement Team in all aspects of purchasing and stock management, ensuring smooth operations and accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and key in Purchase Orders, sending them to suppliers.
Place back-to-back orders as required.
Check and approve invoices, ensuring they match expected costs.
Monitor the status of expected deliveries and highlight any issues.
Chase suppliers for shipping documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (CoAs).
Update and maintain accurate contract balances.
Provide logistics with relevant documentation to ensure goods can be customs cleared and delivered.
Maintain and report on the accuracy of Procurement data in the ERP system.
Support Procurement Executives with on-site stock levels, in line with agreed KPIs.
Update Prophet with Best Before End (BBE) dates.
Chase supplier loadings to ensure timely deliveries.
Take responsibility for specific products, including stock planning and stock management.
