A leading global chemicals organisation is undergoing a significant transformation of its Procurement function, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join as a Global Procurement Business Partner.

The business is entering an important period of development, with a new organisational structure and Procurement strategy being introduced alongside the wider evolution of the company.

Procurement has a critical role to play in the organisation’s future performance. Historically, elements of spend have been managed locally across different markets and manufacturing locations. The business is now focused on creating a more integrated, consistent and strategically aligned Procurement function, with greater emphasis on commercial performance, compliance, supplier management and risk.

This role will have a predominantly European focus within the wider global Procurement organisation, acting as an important link between regional operations and the central Procurement function.

As Global Procurement Business Partner, you will work closely with senior regional and site leadership teams to understand their commercial and operational priorities, ensuring these are effectively represented within the wider Procurement strategy.

Equally, you will be responsible for translating central Procurement strategies into effective regional execution, helping drive greater consistency across countries and manufacturing locations.

This is a genuine integrator and business partnering position, requiring someone who can successfully navigate the natural tensions between regional requirements, operational priorities and global category strategies.

The underlying role has been designed specifically to connect Group Procurement strategy with regional and site execution, while ensuring Procurement remains closely aligned with operational continuity, commercial performance and risk management.

Key responsibilities will include

• Partner with senior regional and country leadership teams to understand business strategy, operational priorities and procurement requirements
• Act as the key interface between European operations and the wider global Procurement function
• Translate global Procurement and category strategies into effective regional and local execution
• Provide regional insight back into the global Procurement organisation, ensuring local challenges, opportunities and priorities inform wider strategy
• Drive greater consistency in procurement processes, governance and ways of working across multiple locations
• Improve procurement compliance and ensure greater adoption of preferred suppliers, commercial agreements and procurement policies
• Identify opportunities to consolidate historically fragmented spend and leverage greater value across the organisation
• Strengthen supplier performance and risk management across a complex supply base
• Partner with global Category Managers to align category strategy with regional and operational requirements
• Support the implementation of new procurement systems, processes and standardised ways of working
• Build stronger alignment between local purchasing teams, regional leadership and the wider global Procurement function
• Lead, develop and support procurement capability across the regional organisation

The role will have significant exposure to senior operational stakeholders and will represent Procurement within regional and site leadership forums, while remaining closely connected to the wider Procurement Leadership Team.

Experience Required

This opportunity is particularly well suited to an experienced procurement professional who has operated within a large, complex and matrixed organisation and understands how to influence across both regional and central structures.

You will need to demonstrate

• Strong procurement leadership and business partnering experience
• Experience operating across multiple countries, sites or business units
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence senior regional and operational leadership
• Experience translating wider procurement strategies into practical operational delivery
• Strong commercial capability and experience identifying savings, efficiencies and broader value opportunities
• Experience driving procurement governance, compliance and standardised ways of working
• Strong change management capability and experience supporting procurement transformation
• The ability to navigate competing priorities across Category Management, Procurement and operational stakeholders

Industry background is not the defining factor. Experience within chemicals, manufacturing or another operationally complex environment would be beneficial, but the priority is finding someone who understands how Procurement operates within a global matrix structure and can drive alignment, compliance and change across multiple stakeholders and locations.
