
Supply Chain Manager
Location: Stoke
Salary: up to £60,000 DOE + Benefits

Reed is partnering with a leading UK manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Supply Chain Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded supply chain professional to take ownership of warehouse, logistics and inventory operations within a fast-paced production environment.
The successful candidate will lead a large operational team, manage third-party supplier relationships, drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure the efficient flow of materials and finished goods across the business.
The Role
As Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse, inventory and logistics activities, ensuring service levels, operational excellence and cost efficiency are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include
Leading and developing operational teams across warehousing and distribution functions
Delivering improvements in productivity, service performance and operational efficiency
Managing inventory accuracy through robust controls, audits and stock verification processes
Ensuring materials and finished products are received, stored and dispatched effectively
Monitoring logistics performance, transport expenditure and service provider effectiveness
Working closely with production, planning and commercial teams to support business objectives
Driving process improvements through the use of ERP, MRP and warehouse management systems
Managing operational assets and equipment maintenance programmes
Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve utilisation and optimise costs
Producing and presenting performance metrics to senior stakeholders
Supporting strategic projects and change initiatives across the wider supply chain function
Ensuring compliance with all relevant food industry, health & safety and quality standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in a Supply Chain, Warehouse, Logistics or Distribution Management position
A strong background within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or a similarly fast-moving environment
Proven leadership experience managing large teams and multiple operational activities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and operational reporting tools
The ability to influence stakeholders and build effective cross-functional relationships
A track record of delivering measurable improvements in service, efficiency and cost control
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A hands-on management style combined with strategic thinking
Desirable Experience
Relevant supply chain, logistics or warehouse management qualifications
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety qualification
Experience leading continuous improvement or operational transformation projects
Exposure to inventory control, transport management and third-party logistics providers
