Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to support our fast-paced fresh produce procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, thrive in a dynamic environment, and be confident speaking Spanish and English to communicate with international growers and suppliers. This role plays a key part in ensuring continuity of supply, maintaining quality standards, and achieving competitive pricing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily purchasing of fresh fruits and vegetables
• Communicate with Spanish-speaking growers and suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and quality
• Place and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
• Monitor stock levels, shelf life, and wastage
• Maintain accurate procurement and supplier records
• Liaise with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth intake of produce
• Handle quality issues, shortages, and claims with suppliers
• Support the senior procurement team with market updates and availability reports

Key Requirements

• Fluent in Spanish and English – essential
• Positive, professional, and proactive attitude
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-moving environment
• IT skills (Microsoft Office / ERP systems)
• Previous experience in procurement, fresh produce, food supply, or administration (advantageous but not essential)
