About The Role
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain/ Logistics Network Planning Manager to join the Waitrose Supply Chain. The Supply Chain/ Logistics Network Planning Manager will support the Network Planning & Optimisation Lead to plan the flow of goods throughout the Waitrose network. In this role you will play a pivotal part in optimising our extensive supply chain network, ensuring exceptional product availability for our customers across all retail channels. A key part of this role will involve making data-driven decisions based on the integrated planning process, business requirements and reporting (e.g. actuals / forecast / plan / budget variances). This role demands strong leadership, analytical skills and a ‘can-do' attitude to drive significant change and continuous improvement within our large diverse organisation.
  • Salary - £53,500 - £80,300
  • Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.
  • Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team aim for 2 to 3 days per week in the office to connect. There will also be adhoc supply chain visits required as part of this role.
  • Location - Bracknell Head Office
  • Interviews - to be held in person at Bracknell Head Office on 5th and 6th January 2026
  • This role is known internally as Network Planning Manager
Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the end-to-end planning activities across Waitrose Supply Chain from the Operational Plan, forecast, daily/chamber capacity plans, budgets and resource requirements.
  • Leading the stock and volume movements and balancing service with cost and efficiency to deliver the right balance of customer proposition, availability, wastage and working capital.
  • Working closely with Trading, Merchandising, Distribution and Retail to manage conflicting business priorities and make the right decisions for the business as a whole
Essential Skills/experience You'll Need
  • Working in a planning function for complex, Grocery retailer
  • Managing plans from daily to 18 month time horizon
  • Providing constructive challenge and facilitating trade offs between competing business priorities
  • Balancing different needs and mediating where necessary
  • Experience in budget setting
  • Stakeholder engagement and management
  • Proven track record of delivery and data-driven decision-making
  • Managing large, complex cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of Merchandising, Finance and Distribution
  • Leading people through change in retail organisations
Desirable Skills/experience You May Have
  • Previous experience of working with a 3PL
  • Understanding of JDA fulfilment and LDE forecasting systems
