Procurement Solicitor

We are working with a market-leading international law firm who are looking for an Associate Solicitor to join their Procurement practice.

The Role

The successful candidate will join an elite Procurement team, advising on a wide spectrum of high-value procurement and construction work in the public and utilities sectors, often with a multi-jurisdictional element. The candidate will act for high-profile clients, such as central government departments, major government agencies, national utilities, and charities on both large, collaborative projects and standalone matters.

The candidate will play a key role in supporting clients and promoting innovation and development within the firm’s practice in light of the upcoming Procurement Bill and ongoing reform agenda. The candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to contribute to business development initiatives while maintaining strong relationships with the firm’s global client base.

Essential Criteria

• 1-3 PQE;
• Strong background in public and utility procurement matters in a medium to large commercial firm;
• Previous experience in construction law, subsidy control and/or public sector governance highly advantageous;
• Ability to demonstrate strong commercial awareness;
• Outstanding academics;
• Technically excellent;
• Negotiation skills;
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
