This includes the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of the movement of materials through the production cycle; utilizing production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels; ensuring materials standards are met; and managing outside vendors through the processes of qualifying, obtaining quotes, examining bids, and making award decisions for the company. The Director, UK/EMEA Procurement & SAP is the materials focal point for Engineering during supplier selections, rating of supplier performance and maintaining supplier relationships.

Core Responsibilities

  • P2R Governance – Design, document, and roll out standard work for requisition, PO placement, supplier acknowledgment, manage ASL (Approved Supplier List), goods/invoice receipt, and GR/IR resolution; align six ERPs and related master-data rules including SAP implementation transition.
  • Material Availability & Expediting – Lead daily shortage management and tiered escalation; resolve constraints rapidly while transitioning sites from reactive expediting to disciplined planning.
  • PO Execution Excellence – Drive 100 % PO accuracy, secure supplier confirmations within 48 hours, and achieve best-in-class on-time delivery through disciplined processes, supplier development, and inventory-buffer strategies (kanban, & VMI).
  • Performance Management & Analytics – Build real-time dashboards for OTD, inventory turns, PPV, GR/IR aging, and P2R cycle time; facilitate weekly site huddles and monthly executive reviews.
  • Continuous Improvement – Champion Lean/Six-Sigma kaizens to compress P2R cycle time and release working capital; cleanse MRP parameters (min/max, safety stock, MOQ) to align inventory with demand variability.
  • People & Change Leadership – Lead tactical buyers/expediters through regional managers; coach talent pipelines and cultivate a culture of data-driven decision-making and operational rigor.
  • Participate in supplier selections and onboarding of new sources for indirect commodity spend and supplier consolidation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market conditions that affect overall cost, lead time, and availability of critical commodities.
  • Continuously improve supplier performance by understanding business requirements and aligning suppliers with business needs.
  • Participate in supplier quarterly reviews and communicate expectations.
  • Work closely with Commodity Managers and Supply Chain Managers to negotiate favorable contracts and long term agreements.
  • Must meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators on cost, quality, delivery and cash flo.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ progressive procurement/materials leadership in aerospace or other complex, regulated manufacturing
  • Demonstrated success running multi-site P2R or tactical buying organizations (>$250 M annual spend)
  • Expert knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Syteline, or equivalent) and advanced analytics tools (Power BI/Tableau; Excel)
  • Proven Lean/Six-Sigma practitioner with quantifiable cost, cycle-time, or inventory wins and supplier relationship management
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30 % globally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as negotiation, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong collaboration and leader of teamwork orientation with ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to drive global supply chain goals and performance metrics, reduce total landed costs and develop supplier partnerships
  • Experience in negotiating with raw material and outside service suppliers to secure favorable pricing and long-term contracts
  • Experience with advanced data analysis and visualization tools including creative thinking with problem-solving capabilities
  • Impeccable integrity, strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or MS in Supply Chain
  • Professional certifications (CPSM, CPIM, CSCP)
  • Experience harmonizing multiple ERPs during M&A or footprint consolidation
  • Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, supply chain, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
