Job title: Senior Procurement & Contract Management Advisor

Location: Basildon (Hybrid – Minimum 1 day per week on-site)

Employment basis: Full time / Temporary (6 month)

Salary: Circa £56k

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement & Contract Management Advisor to support the organisation in delivering service projects through robust business cases and commercial programmes. This role ensures strong financial governance, risk management, and effective contract management aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide commercial insight on procurement opportunities and contract reviews
• Lead development of a contract management framework
• Manage procurement activities for goods, works, and services
• Oversee project governance including plans, reports, and risk registers
• Monitor benefit realisation plans and align resources with strategic goals
• Develop commercial business cases and embed a commercial culture
• Build partnerships across public, private, and third sectors
• Ensure compliance with legislation, professional standards, and policies

About You

• Proven experience in Local Government procurement
• Strong knowledge of contract management and commercial practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage complex projects and deliver under pressure
• Skilled in risk management and financial governance
