Eisai Manufacturing is the hub of Eisai’s production and supply chain. We make tablets, package these into blisters, label and package vials and bottles. We also manage the wider medicines supply chain and other companies who undertake work on our behalf.

Your new role
As a senior leader within Eisai’s UK-based global manufacturing operation, the role leads a multidisciplinary supply chain organisation comprising supply chain managers, logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain systems, and demand forecasting.
The Director ensures that factory demand is accurately derived in accordance with stock policies and an efficient cadence of supply, supporting both operational excellence and agility.
The role sponsors and drives key projects related to business systems (e.g., SAP, Serialisation, Planning), business change, new product introductions, and business development opportunities.
It is responsible for establishing supply strategies that meet legislative, quality, and fiscal requirements across global markets.
The position provides strategic oversight of key suppliers, including importation, distribution logistics, and contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs), ensuring performance, compliance, and resilience.
Accountable for logistics to affiliates/country warehouses, the role ensures adherence to GDP standards, appropriate INCOTERMS, and provides support during supply challenges such as geopolitical conflicts, sanctions, or tariff changes.
Finally, the Director serves as the principal liaison between UK Production Operations and Commercial business units across Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Asia, China, Japan, East Asia, and the Global South (EAGS), ensuring alignment between manufacturing and market needs.
What are we looking for?
Core Skills
- Leadership of multi-disciplines teams, with expertise in coaching, talent development, change and project management.
- Expertise in warehouse management, global supply chain strategy, demand planning, logistics, serialisation and ERP systems (SAP).
- Proven negotiation capability.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Solid understanding of GDP/GxP compliance, intercompany transactions and risk mitigation.
- Data-driven decision-making, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Has a robust understanding of international trade regulations, including INCOTERMS, customs, VAT implications on importation, and the ability to navigate complex logistics challenges such as sanctions, tariffs, and conflict zones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Senior supply chain experience in pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
