Operating within PwC's Deals Business Unit and the Strategy& Operations team, the Procurement specialists partner with clients across sectors to identify and activate value levers, drawing on deep industry knowledge and proven strategic expertise. They support growth, resilience, and competitive edge through both transactions and business optimisation.
With a UK team of around 800 professionals and access to PwC's global transformation platform, the practice offers unmatched scale. About The Role
- Lead end-to-end procurement transformation-design and implement strategy, target operating model, processes, governance, systems, and tools.
- Own category and sourcing delivery-develop and execute category strategies across direct and indirect spend; run competitive events, negotiations, supplier relationship and contract management to secure tangible benefits.
- Drive rapid value creation in turnaround contexts-shape and deliver cost-out, cash release, and working capital improvement workstreams; align cross functional stakeholders and track benefits to P&L and cash.
- Improve source-to-pay performance-diagnose issues, streamline P2P, strengthen controls, and embed data driven performance management and change adoption.
- Enable digital procurement-identify and deploy next generation sourcing, across S2P platforms, Third Party Risk Management, apply analytics and automation to accelerate insight and benefits realization, including AI orchestration and implementation.
- Embed ESG in procurement-integrate sustainability criteria into strategies and supplier selection, manage Scope 3 considerations, and support decarbonisation across the supply base.
- Lead client engagement and teams-operate as a trusted advisor, craft executive ready materials, manage multidisciplinary delivery teams, coach junior colleagues, and contribute to proposition development and business development.
Desired skills and qualifications include
- Procurement transformation & delivery-experience spanning category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, SRM, and P2P improvement.
- Turnaround value creation-proven track record of cost-based transformation, cash and working capital improvement, and benefits tracking.
- Digital & analytics fluency-comfort with source-to-pay platforms and the business adoption of digital tools; strong analysis skills (Excel) and familiarity with analytics tooling (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) to derive insights from complex third party spend.
- ESG integration-understanding of how to embed sustainability into procurement, including Scope 3 measurement/management and supplier decarbonisation.
- Stakeholder leadership-excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders, produce executive materials, and coach junior team members.
- Programme/project management-capable of leading multi-workstream delivery at pace in ambiguous environments.
