Job Description
We are seeking a motivated person to join our team, supporting the Sustainable Supply Chain Compliance Manager in driving positive change throughout Heathrow's supply chain. This pivotal role focuses on advancing sustainability by working alongside our Procurement team to help achieve our ambitious People and Planet targets. You will support the sourcing, procurement, contract assurance, and post-contract management, ensuring sustainability is embedded at every stage.
The role involves developing evaluation tools, enhancing reporting transparency, and engaging with suppliers to maximise value and reduce risk. You will contribute to the creation of procurement strategies, supplier selection criteria, and the delivery of contract assurance services, with a strong emphasis on sustainability best practice and audit compliance. Acting as an advocate for sustainability, you will provide guidance and educational support to both internal teams and external partners, ensuring Heathrow's long-term sustainable future.
Your role will involve
  • Support strategic sourcing activities across all categories of spend with a focus on the following areas for development of sustainable metrics and methods of record keeping for Biodiversity net gain, Diversity and inclusion, Embodied carbon, Energy use, Waste, Water use and Whole life carbon assessments
  • Constructively challenging and contributing to business plans and strategies to ensure alignment with Heathrow's sustainability goals, such as our ambitious People and Planet strategy.
  • Driving collaboration and best practice sharing within our procurement teams, fostering sustainability awareness and robust data analytics for supplier performance.
  • Leading on the development and management of sustainable contract requirements, including drafting best practice guides and overseeing the Heathrow Sustainability Schedule.
  • Building external partnerships and sharing sustainability insights by engaging with industry peers, infrastructure projects, commercial partners, and local authorities to enhance knowledge exchange.
These Skills Are Essential
  • Procurement experience and/or a CIPS Level 4 qualification
  • Evidence of having worked with a variety of procurement and contracting models and environments using a range of reimbursement models
  • Ability to deliver multiple projects to meet business affordability targets and achievement of Key Performance Indicators through strong Supplier Relationship Management
  • Experience of managing teams of stakeholders across different categories
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a structured process and fast paced environment

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
