Job Summary: The Supply Chain Specialist is an integral role within the European Supply Chain team. The overall scope of this role is to provide essential support to ensure that our UK & European customers receive unrivaled service & lead times and that required products are available in our Finished Goods Warehouses in the UK & The Netherlands to ensure On Time In Full deliveries.

In addition to this you will also need to provide essential support for Kalsec Europe’s manufacturing facility in Mildenhall, UK, by ensuring that required raw materials and packaging are available for planned production runs.

Reducing waste is also a critical area of focus. By working with our UK Manufacturing & head office USA Manufacturing teams, a process needs to be established to classify items for rework or be used as input materials for other products to ensure our annual disposal value is kept to an absolute minimum.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Inventory management of:
  • Finished Goods
  • Raw Materials
  • Packaging
  • Pro-actively work alongside the Global S&OP team to help identify correct inventory levels and metrics for Raw Materials, Packaging and Finished Goods and develop an Inventory strategy.
  • Coordinate imports from internal and external suppliers.
  • Control stock transactions between facilities.
  • Ongoing monitoring of inventory and ensure inventory levels are operationally and financially feasible (ABC/9 Box/Safety Stock settings)
  • Continuous monitoring of storage capacity at UK & NL warehouses ensuring adequate storage of Raw Materials, Packaging and Finished Goods.
  • Assist with mapping the current supply chain and help identify improvement opportunities.
  • Help develop a high-level view of supply chain process and assist the implementation of improvements.
  • Be a main contributor to the long-term vision of the European Supply Chain team and help identify:
  • Technologies that can help improve existing processes.
  • Create plans for future business needs (for example, manpower, storage space).
  • Oversee the flow of products upstream & downstream and produce analysis as required.
  • Ensure any import delays are shared with relevant and appropriate departments.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to determine organisational needs for raw materials and packaging.
  • Identify expiring products and coordinate with UK/USA regarding rework / blend off opportunities to minimize product waste or disposal.
  • Help provide detailed analysis and reports as required.
  • Help ensure regular cycle counting at UK & European warehouse facilities are completed.
  • Maintain appropriate records.
  • Help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the European Supply Chain operation including OTIF.
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Company Quality Management Policies and Objectives.

Education/Experience

Required

  • + 5 years detailed knowledge of Inventory Management/planning.
  • Detailed knowledge of supply and demand planning including S&OP.
  • Key user in the ERP system mainly MRP. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Kalsec business systems as appropriate.
  • Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and influencing skills, keyboard proficiency.
  • Detail Oriented and Quality Driven
  • Proven strong analytical, statistical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - An excellent communicator, able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with dexterity, skill, trust, gravitas and the ability to work collaboratively with different cultures.
  • + 5 years’ experience in a Supply Chain environment and knowledge of international commerce

Desired

  • + 5 years’ experience of working in Supply Planning with multiple end users.
  • + 5 years’ experience of developing inventory strategies.
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • IoSCM – In either Supply Chain/Warehouse management

Equipment Operation

  • General office equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Able to inspect all areas of manufacturing activities.
  • Time spent moving between and within buildings.

Travel

  • Occasional external training courses, occasional visits to head office and/or NL Warehouse.
