Are you looking for a role where you will be key in strategic supplier relationships? We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Programmes Specialist, working within the Leonardo Helicopters division.

As a Procurement Programmes Specialist, you will work closely with key stakeholders to manage new bids, lead negotiations, manage contracts with suppliers and build supplier strategies.

What You Will Do As Procurement Programmes Specialist

  • Support Business in acquisition of prime contracts in conjunction with PM , Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, pre contract to clarify definition of material requirements and establish a credible and achievable programme
  • Work collaboratively with P&SC Bid IPT lead from Bid through to Contract effective date to ensure configuration, development programme, build schedule, budget and target cost plans are fully defined and understood to enable the management of the P&SC element of the contracted programme to budget and schedule
  • Work cross-functionally within IPT to develop an appropriate Integrated Management schedule that underpins the flow down of Prime contract requirements and delivery schedule
  • Work collaboratively within IPTs to define appropriate Work Breakdown Structures with fully aligned budget (both RC and NRC), including the definition of any pre contract material requirement (AP sanction or stock)
  • Convert Bid costs to target costs which reflect the overall budget flowed from the IPT. Establish the earned value measurements to be used for the programme
  • Manage, control, distribute and report on the P&SC budget and monitor achievement /setting of targets for P&SC teams, for NRC and RC scope.
  • Manage launch of supply chain contracts for Red and Green BoM through to completion of all NRC activity, completion of first A/C delivery and as necessary any P&SC actions in support of trials activity and IETP delivery
  • Develop with P&SC teams appropriate sourcing strategies which support the original Bid assumptions and in accordance with LGS and LHD Sourcing processes and procedures
  • Represent P&SC and perform the P&SC functional lead role in IPT’s for programmes allocated. Working with other IPT functional leads and IPT lead to support the effective delivery of the customer programme
  • Maintaining an appropriate Level 3 , Level 2 and any other necessary planning tools to effectively manage/report upon launch and delivery of the P&SC scope of work in support of Customer programmes allocated
  • Manage Risks associated with delivery of the P&SC scope of work
  • Responsible for representing P&SC within Change Management process, with respect to the programmes allocated , having responsibility ensuring that any change is evaluated by correct P&SC function and for reporting upon any potential delays and /or additional costs and ensuring that changes are as appropriate assessed and if approved implemented by the P&SC teams
  • Support and coordinate, with IPT and P&SC teams as necessary, costing and evaluation of all material requirements associated with any Prime contract amendment through the proposal, negotiation and post award implementation stages . Ensuring if contract amendment is agreed that all Red and Green BoM requirements are effectively launched in a timely manner in accord with agreed costs/budget

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree / HNC in Business Management or Engineering (or equivalent) and/or MCIPS Corporate qualification or relevant experience within the Defence/Aerospace Sector or wider industry
  • Relevant procurement or commercial experience with proven examples of; Performance improvement against core objectives (e.g. cost reduction, schedule adherence, lead time reduction etc.)
  • Negotiation, agreement and management of contracts for Procurements (Long Term Agreement, Design and manufacturing agreement).
  • Management of complex contracts including management of design and development programmes
  • A proven ability to influence internally and externally and solve problems using own initiative
  • Advanced team working skills and capable of co-ordinating multi-functional team activity.
  • Proven ability to work in international markets
  • Able & willing to travel alone or as part of a team within the UK and overseas
