Blueleaf are currently recruiting a Logistics Route Planner, who is responsible for Blueleaf’s routing, delivery planning, driver performance and continuous optimisation of cost and service. This role ensures that our customers receive timely, accurate deliveries while maintaining full compliance with UK transport legislation and delivering a best-in-class service experience.

This is ideal for a proactive, data-driven transportation professional who thrives in a high-volume distribution environment and continually seeks to improve fleet performance.

This is a permanent full time role, working 45 hours a week 11:00am - 8:00pm, Monday to Friday. Immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimise delivery and collection routes for a fleet of 40+ vehicles to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
  • Monitor and update routes based on real-time changes, driving hours, traffic conditions, and operational priorities.
  • Compile and analyse operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly), monitor KPIs, and follow up on critical issues.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across the transport team.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and support site safety initiatives.
  • Perform periodic checks on lone workers to ensure safety and compliance with company procedures.
  • Ensure all customer orders and collection notes are accurately recorded and tracked.
  • Liaise with drivers for routing updates and resolve delivery issues.
  • Conduct daily driver debriefs to review route performance and address discrepancies.
  • Ensure delivery performance meets Blueleaf’s service standards (OTIF, accuracy, customer satisfaction).
  • Conduct regular audits of driver documentation, safety checks, and compliance records.
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team to provide timely updates on consignments.
  • Assist in resolving delivery/collection discrepancies such as shortages or overs.
  • Collaborate with IT to develop and troubleshoot operational systems.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or operational impacts.
  • Work closely with Warehouse, Operations, and Commercial teams to align delivery operations with business needs.
  • Handle SUB cases and manual delivery notes as required.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and work from other warehouses when necessary.

Experience And Qualities

  • Route planning software
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • TMS systems
  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner or similar role in a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in route optimisation and delivery planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work at a pace in a high-volume environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience working with transport management systems (TMS), route planning software, or telematics.
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Able to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in the quality of work and information

What will we offer?

We will offer a salary of £31,500 - £35,000 per annum, with paid breaks, and 33 days holiday inclusive of bank and public holidays. Location

You will be located at our Crawley Depot in West Sussex.
