Responsibilities
To drive and own Run-to-Target (RTT) deployment across the sites in the UK by:
- Ensure sites are not constrained due to the lack of knowledge.
- Ensure the proper level of skills and qualifications at the sites.
- Successfully deploy the loss elimination skill needed for the compelling business need (CBN).
- Provide site leadership with a calibrated assessment of the integrated work system (IWS) implementation from a point of view of total integration of the Pillars.
- Provide direct coaching to site leadership teams so they know what the next step is, why it is important, and how to achieve the next step.
- Promote reapplication of approaches and techniques across the UK while ensuring the tools are being used according to the standard
- Ensure IWS work is loss focused and targeted to delivering the CBN.
This is done by:
- Ensure integrated work system (IWS) activities have a connection to loss elimination that will deliver the required compelling business need (CBN) results.
- Coach IWS technologies and approaches in all Pillars and in on-the-floor activities.
- Be the assessor of the integrated activity implementation and the standards calibrator with the leadership team.
- Participate in all phase assessments to provide a calibrated and objective view.
- Capture and disseminate current best practices worthy of reapplication.
- Establish a contract with the site manager and the site IWS manager.
- Develop capability in leadership teams and in the site IWS manager.
- Diagnose activities and identify technical know-how and organization behaviors that are barriers to implementation.
- Provide feedback to leadership teams in such a way that it causes them to act.
- Network with other business units (BUs) and external organizations for information-sharing purposes.
- Share and receive learnings with and from other internal consultants (ICs) to foster global skill development.
- Spend time on skill self-development.
- Support the Line Lead through the deployment
- Coach the site ME and Process leads through the RTT and on the overall SPARK deployment
- Set clear direction and ‘tone' for the deployment during the 16-week RTT
- Work with UK IWS Manager on their capability and feedback/question any issues that arise during the RTT directly with UK IWS Manager
- Evaluate and feedback on the Capability builds and the candidate readiness for certification post RTT
- Be a Matrix Leader to the Site Process Leads post the RTT for any support required once they are deploying independently
- Strong prior experience in a manufacturing environment that uses IWS
- Able to influence site managers, site leadership teams, and directors as required
- Technical competence in food manufacturing processes, Primary or Multipack packaging
- Ability to teach, coach, and develop others
- Can help others see and implement the organization's vision
- Personally committed to the self-development required of the role
- On site at varying locations for each of the RTT 16-week deployments
- Has operation experience and the skill of the phase where the site/facility is currently operating
- Has had a line assignment in manufacturing
- Able to work across the UK at other sites for the duration of the RTT role out
- Shop Floor Credibility is important
- Active Listener
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience of sourcing, managing and administering a portfolio of programmes
- Ability to work proactively, collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
