Our client, a prominent organisation within its sector, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to oversee all purchasing and supply chain operations in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This is a pivotal leadership role requiring a comprehensive understanding of global sourcing, supplier management, logistics, and cost optimization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust procurement strategies, driving efficiency across the supply chain, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in managing complex supply chains, negotiating significant contracts, and leading procurement teams. Experience in category management, risk mitigation, and sustainable sourcing practices is essential. You will work closely with various departments, including operations, finance, and product development, to align procurement activities with business objectives. This role requires exceptional leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills, along with a deep understanding of market dynamics and procurement best practices. A commitment to fostering strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement is paramount. This position demands a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing supply chain resilience. A relevant degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, coupled with significant senior-level procurement experience, is required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive procurement and supply chain strategies. Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering high performance. Oversee all sourcing activities, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management. Drive cost reduction initiatives and optimize procurement processes. Ensure supply chain resilience and mitigate associated risks. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their procurement needs. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing. Implement best practices in procurement and supply chain management. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. Qualifications:
Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with significant leadership responsibility. Proven ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies. Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills. Expertise in category management and strategic sourcing. Solid understanding of logistics, inventory management, and international trade. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Relevant degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
