Our client is looking for an accomplished and strategic Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain to lead their global procurement and supply chain operations from a fully remote position. This senior leadership role demands a visionary leader with extensive experience in developing and executing effective purchasing strategies, optimizing supply chain performance, and driving significant cost savings. You will be responsible for managing a diverse team of procurement and supply chain professionals, fostering strong relationships with suppliers, and ensuring the resilience and efficiency of the supply chain.
Key responsibilities include
Developing and implementing a comprehensive global purchasing and supply chain strategy aligned with the company's long-term goals. Overseeing all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Optimizing inventory levels, logistics, and distribution networks to ensure efficient flow of goods. Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity. Driving cost reduction initiatives and delivering significant savings across all spend categories. Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of procurement and supply chain professionals. Collaborating with cross-functional departments to understand and meet their operational needs. Implementing best-in-class procurement and supply chain processes and systems. Monitoring market trends, economic conditions, and supplier performance to inform strategic decisions. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent qualification highly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in purchasing and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record of developing and executing successful global procurement and supply chain strategies. Extensive experience in negotiation, contract management, and supplier development. Strong understanding of global logistics, warehousing, and inventory management. Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain management software. Strong analytical, financial acumen, and strategic planning abilities. Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced, and fully remote global environment.
