Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their established team in Leicester, Leicestershire, UK . This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required by the business. You will be responsible for managing the entire procurement lifecycle, from identifying needs and sourcing suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery. Key Responsibilities

Identify procurement needs across various departments and develop sourcing strategies. Research and identify potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, reliability, and pricing. Conduct tendering processes, including RFQs (Request for Quotations) and RFPs (Request for Proposals). Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contract conditions with suppliers. Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with contractual obligations. Manage supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships and resolving any issues that may arise. Analyze market trends and commodity prices to identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate procurement records and generate relevant reports on spend, savings, and supplier performance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide procurement support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices. Previous experience in a similar procurement or purchasing role is essential, ideally within a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems would be advantageous. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills are required. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail are crucial. Professional qualifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or working towards them would be a significant asset. This is a hybrid role, requiring a blend of office-based work in Leicester to facilitate team collaboration and supplier engagement, with the flexibility of some remote working.
