Our client, a thriving research and development organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to manage the acquisition of indirect services. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of non-operational goods and services, from IT and professional services to facilities management. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining the benefits of remote flexibility with essential on-site collaboration. You will play a key part in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and driving value for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for indirect services, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and performance is monitored. Conduct market analysis to identify potential new suppliers and innovative sourcing strategies. Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and enhance value. Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs and provide expert procurement advice. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the procurement function and implement best practices. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Track procurement spend and manage budgets for indirect services. Prepare reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect services. Proven experience in sourcing, negotiation, and contract management. Strong understanding of procurement best practices and market dynamics for various indirect categories. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle) is desirable. Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities. MCIPS or other relevant professional qualifications are a plus. Familiarity with research or technology sector procurement is advantageous.
