Our client, a global leader in their industry, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Remote Senior Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations. This pivotal role offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to manage global supply chains and drive cost efficiencies from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive purchasing strategies, managing key supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This includes overseeing the entire procurement process, from demand forecasting and supplier selection to contract management and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supply chain optimisation, ideally within a large, complex organisation. You will have a proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate supply chain risks, and foster strong, collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers worldwide. Exceptional negotiation skills, a keen analytical mind, and a deep understanding of market dynamics are essential. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems is required. This role demands a proactive leader who can effectively manage a remote team, drive continuous improvement, and contribute significantly to the company's bottom line. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic global purchasing strategies to meet business objectives. Manage and lead a remote procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture. Identify and secure cost-saving opportunities across all spend categories. Negotiate complex contracts and agreements with key suppliers worldwide. Oversee supplier selection, onboarding, and performance management processes. Mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards. Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and provide solutions. Monitor market trends and identify potential sourcing innovations. Manage budgets and control expenditures related to procurement. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function. Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, savings, and market insights. Qualifications: Extensive experience in strategic purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management. Proven track record of managing global supply chains and delivering significant cost savings. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing remote teams. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle) and ERP systems. In-depth knowledge of sourcing strategies and best practices. Strong understanding of international trade and logistics. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; CIPS certification is a plus. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
